Jessica R was ready to give it her all when she auditioned for The Voice Kids UK. After years of singing with his family, it was finally time to show the world his talent. No one could have expected her rendition of the song “Somebody to Love” to be so powerful, especially since she is only 13! When Freddie Mercury and the other members of Queen got together to record the song “Somebody to Love”, no one had any idea it would be a hit.
They wanted to create a song about faith, love, and the confusion of moving through life, while including a sound that would be like a big choir behind their backs. The song was recorded in the early months of 1976 and released the same year. Almost immediately after “Somebody to Love” hit the shelves, it went to the top of the charts. While peaking at number one in Europe, the song peaked at number 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100. His popularity of “Somebody to Love” today is one of the reasons musicians young and old are trying their luck!
That’s why Jessica R decided to use the song for her blind audition on The Voice Kids UK. As soon as Jessica started to sing, all the judges clapped. This performance was clearly not like the others! In an instant, two of the judges swung their chairs around and clapped as Jessica sang the verses of the difficult song.
