It was the year 1994. The event was the World Music Awards. And for the first time on international television – and with his wife – Patrick Swayze danced with Lisa Nieme to the song “All The Man That I Need” in tribute to pop icon Whitney Houston. It was just a few years after Dirty Dancing came out.
Patrick Swayze was better than ever, so this performance was quite difficult at the time. With its almost effortless movement, it’s clear that Patrick and Lisa shared a very special bond. It was no secret how much he loved her and how that love never wavered during their 34 years of marriage.
The couple first met in 1970, when Swayze was 18, and Lisa was teaching dance classes with Patrick’s mother. Did you notice Whitney Houston in the audience clapping loudly after the performance? If you didn’t do it the first time, be sure to watch it again.
