When you think of Leonard Cohen’s famous song “Hallelujah,” you probably imagine him both singing and playing the melody on the piano. Well, this street artist that we present to you today decided to make his own version of this song, but in a way that no one had done before.
Different versions of this number are quite common. After all, it is a beautiful song with the potential for many beautiful harmonies and such. We have seen versions with guitar, in orchestra, and even a cappella. But we have never seen such a performance.
But we have never seen an interpretation like this. For this, this street musician chose a unique and different instrument for the song: glasses full of water. Surely you have seen or know that there are people who, using glasses filled with water, are able to perform songs, and I even once saw a person create a note by circling the edge of a partially filled glass of water.
Installed in a street, this artist has placed a table on the sidewalk, with 33 glasses. Each of them was attached to the table with a kind of small cord and suction cups. Although at first glance all the glasses look the same, if you look closely you can see that they are different sizes. Some of the ships closest to the man are smaller, some at the back of the lineup are taller, some are shorter or taller. So he can create different notes and play wonderful song with his great talent.
