Following their recent divorces, Kevin Costner, 68, and Reese Witherspoon, 47, are said to be exploring a romantic relationship with one other.
Most of us are well aware that Costner is mired in a contentious divorce from his second wife, Christine Baumgartner.
The ‘Dances With Wolves’ actor and his ex-wife have made a number of charges against one other, with Costner recently claiming that his 49-year-old wife is using “stalling tactics” to prolong their already tumultuous divorce proceedings.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Baumgartner later admitted that she didn’t comprehend her and Costner’s prenuptial agreement when she signed it. Costner’s legal team described this as “gamesmanship of the worst kind.”
According to a New Idea insider, Costner and Witherspoon (who were initially discussing new projects) have supposedly discovered a surprise chemistry that has blossomed into daily phone conversations and messages.
According to the insider, while they are still working together to find the ideal screenplay, their encounters have grown virtually everyday. The source describes them as “extremely compatible,” and their pals see the possibility for a deeper connection as well. Notably, both stars’ most recent marriages ended earlier this year.
The acrimonious nature of Costner’s divorce from his wife of 18 years made headlines. Baumgartner filed for divorce in May 2023, and they ultimately struck an agreement in September after months of court processes.
Reese Witherspoon’s divorce from Jim Toth, her marriage of over 12 years, on the other hand, took a less dramatic course. They announced their separation in March and divorced in August.
Unlike Costner’s divorce, there was no major drama, with a source telling E! Online earlier this year that the choice was made “with the utmost love, respect, and love for their child.” Reese stated that she felt vulnerable during this period, but she underlined that she did not feel isolated.
Costner and Witherspoon are apparently taking things slowly and allowing the connection to evolve organically as they explore a possible romance. According to the source, they are wary about being seen together in public but may grow more casual after Costner’s duties to the forthcoming 2024 Western thriller ‘Horizon’ are fulfilled (he co-wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the film). Despite the rumors, it is accepted that their relationship is still in its early stages.
Aside from their love relationship, both Costner and Witherspoon have had successful careers in the entertainment business. Costner, best known for his appearances in classic films such as ‘The Bodyguard,’ has won countless awards, including Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and Emmys.
